Joey was reevaluated at age 6 and was noted to have made improvements. When greeted by the examiner, he did not make eye contact but willingly transitioned to the interview room and testing room. He sat in his seat for testing. He did not engage in much conversation with the examiner but responded to questions when asked. He occasionally echoed the phrases of the examiner and repeatedly said to himself "Nice job" as he worked. He demonstrated some pointing and verbalizations to indicate his needs and engaged in some pretend play and interaction.
Joey was able to participate in a nonverbal measure of intellectual functioning and performed in the average range for his age. This is in contrast to his expressive and receptive language skills which, though they have improved, are still below age level.
