Post-Polio Syndrome

Introduction


Client"Something is starting to change," says Nancy. "I can't reach down and pick things up off the floor or pull a 5 lb. package of sugar from the cabinet anymore. It is difficult to move around even with a cane."

Nancy asks her therapist, "How can I slow down my decline and enhance the quality of my life? What adaptations can I practically make to my lifestyle and environment?"


General Objectives

  • Design an interdisciplinary team evaluation for assessing clients with post-polio syndrome.
  • List specific recommendations for a post-polio client given assessment results.
