Anterior Cruciate Ligament

Patient Presents


Patient is an 18-year-old white female presenting with right knee pain, which was worse laterally than medially. Patient stated the injury occurred on 11/01/96 when she fell after a rebound while playing basketball. Patient reported feeling a pop in her right knee after landing, but did not twist her ankle. Patient stated she had “pain all over and increased swelling in her knee” through the week.


What are the typical signs and symptoms of an acute ACL rupture?
