Blood Results


Mr. Fowler's vital signs are stable in the emergency department. He is taken to the catherization lab where percutaneous coronary angiography is performed. Exhibit 2 shows a right anterior oblique projection of a left coronary angiogram. During the angiographic procedure, the following blood results are reported:

Sodium:  141 mEg/L
Potassium:  4.2 mEg/L
Chloride:  101 mEg/L
Bicarbonate:  28 mEg/L
BUN:  15 mg/dl
Creatinine:  1.0 mg/dl
Glucose:  182 mg/dl
CK:  114 U/L
CK-MB:  2.3 ng/ml
Troponin:  I 0.0 ng/ml
Hematocrit:  46%
Hemoglobin:  15.8 g/DL
WBC:  12,300/mm3 with 76% neutrophils,
    20 % lymphocytes, 4% monocytes
Platelets:  365,000/mm3
