
As indicated, the patient's lab work and urinalysis establish a diagnosis of type 2 DM. Elevated insulin levels and high waist to hip ratio (see physical fitness test results provided in Table 2) suggest insulin resistance. She also has high cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL, a low HDL, Stage 1 hypertension, Stage 1 obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle. In addition, she has suggestive evidence of mild coronary ischemia and coronary artery disease.
