Mechanical Low Back Pain

What Syndromes Appear to be Present?

The most significant problem presents and responds like a Derangement 3 (described earlier). The symptoms are asymmetrically represented in the low back, hip and posterior thigh. There is no related deformity as there would be in a Derangement 4 and the symptoms do not extend below the knee, as would be the case in a Derangement 5. There also appears to be an extension dysfunction. The on/off end range pain complained of by the patient during extension test movements is the most pertinent finding in this regard. There may also be a right side gliding dysfunction; however, this restriction may disappear as the derangement is reduced.
