Rheumatoid Arthritis and Aerobic Exercise

Summary

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic disease with fluctuations of remissions and exacerbations. Research shows conditioning exercise is feasible and important for people with RA to maintain health and reduce disability. The challenge to the individual and the health care provider is to believe in and practice self-management to modify exercise and return to exercise after changes in the disease process and therapy.
