Medications After Surgery

Medications given to patients with kidney transplants include:

  • Diuretics (reduce water buildup in the body)
  • Antihypertensive (control blood pressure)
  • Antibiotics (prevent or treat infections)
  • Antacids (help prevent ulcers)
  • Antiviral (help prevent infections)
  • Angifungal (treat fungal infections)
  • Supplements (including phosphorous and magnesium)
